7th Annual Colorado Fruit & Vegetable Growers Association Conference Deemed Successful Collaboration

The virtual seventh Colorado Fruit & Vegetable Growers Association (CFVGA) annual conference proved to be a successful, well-attended event for the statewide organization.. According to the Colorado Fruit & Vegetable Growers Association, "Fruit and veggie production in Colorado is a nearly $485 million dollar industry with more than 90,000 growing acres statewide and around 60,000 acres in Freemont, Mesa, Durango-La Plata, and Delta Counties." The CFVGA is a strategic partner of Western Growers.

Grower Trial Network Continues with Bee Technology Virtual Event

On Thursday, January 28, the Western Growers Center for Innovation & Technology (WGCIT) Grower Trial Network met virtually to discuss bee pollination season in the West. ApisProtect and The Bee Corp, both Center residents, introduced their bee hive technologies to several growers with crops throughout California. WGCIT Director Dennis Donohue organized and moderated the event, and both bee technology companies fielded questions from the grower participants. The virtual GTN was recorded here for Western Growers (WG) members to reference.

2020 Reflection, Moving AgTech Forward in 2021

The Western Growers Center for Innovation & Technology is continuing our mission of solving agriculture’s most pressing issues. Farmers are feeding more people, with less resources, through a global pandemic. Agriculture is an essential industry, so the Center is open for business through this trying time.

According to Dennis Donohue, director of the Center, “2021 will feature the resumption of the Grower Trial Network sessions.  They will continue to be virtual through the first half of 2021.  We will publish a schedule for the first quarter just after the New Year. The goal will be to provide as customized settings as possible for all residents.”
