CPS Innovation Challenge - total award funds available $500,000
On January 16, The Center for Produce Safety announced their first Innovation Challenge award. This program, currently termed GRABIT - (Grower's Risk Assessment Biomarkers Investigative Tool) is designed to bring tools to the supply chain to manage risk and meet the CPS mission: Fund the science, find solutions and fuel the change."

If you are a startup working out of Western Growers Center for Innovation & Technology, you have the exclusive opportunity to be part of our Innovation Showcase at the Forbes AgTech Summit on June 26-27! As a presenter in the Innovation Case, your company and technology will be exposed to 600+ leaders in agriculture across the globe. Once we receive all of the applications, we will work with Forbes to determine which startups will be included in our Innovation Showcase. If you are one of the startups selected, there is no cost to exhibit.

Last week, Dennis Donohue, lead at the Western Growers Center for Innovation & Technology, hosted the first quarterly ‘Resident Council Meeting’ at the Center with a handful of longtime residents and sponsors. Kevin Payne (Zest Labs), Nathan Dorn (Food Origins), Patrick Zelaya (HeavyConnect), Jason Varni (iTradeNetwork), and Emily Lyons (WGCIT) discussed what was working, and what residents could benefit from in the future. Dennis will be building a program schedule for the agtech startups to reference, and he will be re-introducing field tours, as production returns to Central California.
