Innovators at the Western Growers CIT are working together in exciting new ways! Earlier this week, Food Origins and TracMap—two startups working out of the WGCIT—collaborated on a confidential project. Food Origins CEO Nathan Dorn needed to be able to have people drive a golf cart at a precise speed, in exactly prescribed locations, with no errors. TracMap Founder Colin Brown was sure he could implement a solution for Food Origins.
“Driving at exactly 3.6km/hr, how hard can it be?,” said Brown on his Twitter account. “With Nathan Dorn from Food Origins [and] testing his ability to drive at an exact speed for a research project he has on the go.”
Colin provided Nathan with a job management GPS system and assisted in the installation. Food Origins is now a loyal TracMap customer.
Anyone that has met Colin knows he just wanted to play outside! The WGCIT is proud of our agtech startups solving problems for our growers–and watching them collaborate is pretty great, as well!
