Last week, Dennis Donohue, lead at the Western Growers Center for Innovation & Technology, hosted the first quarterly ‘Resident Council Meeting’ at the Center with a handful of longtime residents and sponsors. Kevin Payne (Zest Labs), Nathan Dorn (Food Origins), Patrick Zelaya (HeavyConnect), Jason Varni (iTradeNetwork), and Emily Lyons (WGCIT) discussed what was working, and what residents could benefit from in the future. Dennis will be building a program schedule for the agtech startups to reference, and he will be re-introducing field tours, as production returns to Central California. The ‘Grower Trial Network’ and the ‘Crop Collaborative Initiative’ programs are both growing and evolving as well.
