At the request of the WGCIT startups that are actively hiring, the Center hosted its first Career Fair on November 26, 2019. Over a dozen current college students attended from schools including Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Fresno State, Cabrillo College, Hartnell College, San Jose State, CSU Monterey Bay and Chico State.
During the event, Dennis Donohue led a fireside chat with agtech entrepreneurs Don Lewis (GroGuru & Solare Ventures) and Bryan Banks (KipTraq). Lewis and Banks spoke about their different approaches in the agtech space, as well as addressed who they would like to hire in the future. Donohue repeatedly brought the conversation back to what college majors and disciplines will be in demand in the future of agriculture in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado.
Thank you to all of the WGCIT startups that participated in the job fair: AgTools, California Safe Soil, HeavyConnect, Full Harvest, iTradeNetwork, KipTraq, Concentric Power, GroGuru, and Solare Ventures.
