Agricultural leaders from the Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association (FFVA) visited the Western Growers Center for Innovation & Technology (WGCIT) on July 28 to learn more about agtech advancement in California. The WGCIT was the third stop in FFVA’s current tour across California – a trip where FFVA Director Sonia Tighe along with 12 agricultural leaders from Florida are meeting with farm advocates and observing solutions that are being implemented in the west.
During FFVA’s stop at the WGCIT, several of the Center’s agtech startups presented their solutions to the group. The pitch was followed by a Q&A session, and later a networking soiree where the Florida crew had the opportunity to speak with the startups one-on-one. Pictures from the event are on the Center’s Facebook album.
The FFVA is the state’s leading crop organization and has served the grower-shipper community of Florida since 1943. FFVA members grow vegetables, citrus, tropical fruit, berries, sugar cane, tree fruit and more. The FFVA leadership group includes professionals from a variety of agriculture companies including farms, processors, and crop inputs.
Thank you to all the WGCIT startups that participated!
